This poster is about Margaret Walker and aims to encapsulate who Margaret Walker was in a number of ways. The first thing I wanted to capture was the fact that Margaret was the first African American to win the Yale younger poets award and her accomplishments as a writer. In between the lines are bits of text. These bits of text are quotes from Margaret Walker, I chose these particular quotes because I felt they both captured her personality. I also wanted to show the reach that her writing had on people. The pages expand from the book and look never-ending; I did this to show that the effect her writing has on people is infinite.
